The application of media here is really fluid and suggests movement well. Katharine Asher's clever use of negative space provides us with enough information about the figure to understand her position. Looking at this image has given me a stronger insight into how image can be created without line. I think you would have to be very confident with the construction of your subject matter to produce an image like this freehand.
