This is an illustration from a book called 'How Far is Far?' written by Alvin Tresselt and illustrated by Ward Brackett. The images in this book are all based around collage and texture but this one particularly stood out to me because of the composition. Having the figure at the bottom of the page and what seems to be a destination pushed right to the top really exaggerates the length of a journey which fits in with the title of the book. The pencil strokes on the yellow are suggestive of cornfields in a very subtle yet cleverly clear way.
