I have been looking into job vacancies for greetings cards companies, primarily Hallmark and UK Greetings which are not too far away from Leeds. Some of the jobs are advertised one by one but the majority lead to a CV upload page which is open all the time as they are always looking for new designers. I feel like these kinds jobs could suit my practice as an illustrator and would give me some good experience of the industry. Also, having a regular job like this would mean I was more financially stable than if I went straight into working freelance after graduation. I feel like there is much more security in getting a job like this but I have still not decided 100% that this is what I want to do. I need to find out more about it.

I decided to get in touch with some people who have been in the same position as me before. I am going to contact Amanda Bradley whose work I was introduced to while working at TBWA Manchester not too long ago, she is a current employee of UK Greetings. I am also going to get in touch with Kristyna Baczynski who recently did a talk at college and spoke about how she used to work at Hallmark. I am keen to ask her a few questions about this and how working there has helped her freelance practice.
